Dutch nominations for Oscars 2018
A British-American-French-Dutch film cooperation Dunkirk is nominated for Oscars 2018 in the following 8 categories: Cynematography, Directing, Film Editing, Music, Best Picture, Production Design, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing.
It is a war film directed and produced by Christopher Noland and the director of the photography is a Dutch-Swiss cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema. Hoyte studied at the National Film School in Łódź, Poland. He has worked in Sweden, Norway, Germany, the UK and the USA.
His recent, high-profile work besides Dunkirk includes Her, Interstellar, the James Bond film Spectre.
Dunkirk received the Best Editing award at the 23rd Critics’ Choice Awards, three nominations at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.

Wonder is a American drama film directed by Stephen Chbosky and written by Jack Thorne, Steve Conrad, and Stephen Chbosky, based on the 2012 novel of the same name by R.J. Palacio. The film stars Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jacob Tremblay. The film follows a 10 year child with Treacher Collins syndrome who has undergone 27 surgeries and has been home-schooled. He is trying to fit in the society. He is stressed about going to school for the first time. His family’s support helps him endure the challenges posed by bullying, peer pressure and making friends.
Wonder is nominated for Oscars in the category make-up and hairstyling with a Dutch make-up artist Arjen Tuiten.
After his education in the United States Tuiten went to work for various Dutch films, including Zwartboek. His next project was Spanish film Pan’s Labyrinth, which made him famous in the American film industry. Various Hollywood films followed, including LBJ, Maleficent (with Angelina Jolie), Thor, Iron Man 2 and World War Z. He has his own studio in Los Angeles.

The Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 4 2018 and will be broadcast live to more than 225 countries.
