Oscar nominations for the 90th annual awards were announced on Tuesday morning from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Loving Vincent (Polish: Twój Vincent) is nominated in the category animated feauture. It is a biographical animated drama film about the life and the circumstances of the death of a famous Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. It is the first fully painted animated feature film. It is written and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman.
Each of the film’s 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, using the same technique as Van Gogh, created by a team of 115 painters. The film premiered at the 2017 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
Loving Vincent has been funded by the Polish Film Institute and partially through the campaign of Kickstarter. Kickstarter is an American public-benefit corporation which is located in New York. This company maintains a global crowdfunding platform.

Also Polish film Spoor by Agnieszka Holland and Moomins and the Winter Wonderland (Polish: Magiczna Zima Muminków) produced by Finnish film company Filmkompaniet and Poland’s Animoon Sp. z o.o were Polish submissions but they did not get shortlisted.
The Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 4 2018 and will be broadcast live to more than 225 countries.
