Poland is commemorating today the sixth anniversary of the plane crash in Russia that killed the president Lech Kaczynski, his wife and 94 other passengers including the central-bank governor, top army commanders and other high-ranking officials.
Poland’s leaders had been on their way to commemorate victims of the World War II massacre in Katyn where 22,000 Poles were killed by members of the Soviet secret police, NKVD in 1940.
