Handsome Antoni Porowski: a world-wide known celebrity with Polish roots

Everybody talks and writes about handsome Antoni Porowski, The New York Times, Oprah Winfrey, professional and recognized food magazines: Food&Wine and Bon Appétit but not everybody knows that he has Polish roots, speaks Polish and taught himself to cook by referring to his Polish grandmother’s cooking techniques.

Antoni Porowski is a famous actor, model, television personality and chef who was born in 1984 to Polish parents after they had immigrated to Canada with his two older sisters. He is known for his role as the food and wine expert in the Netflix series Queer Eye. He played in such movies as The Pretenders (2018), Daddy’s Boy (2016), Elliot Loves (2012),  and as the lead officer in a 2014 episode of TV series The Blacklist. He was also featured in a  docudrama about the Vinnytja massacre, To My Father, as Adam Bandrowski, which was part of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival’s short film corner.

He speaks Polish, English and French and after moving to New York to start his film career he worked in food service to support himself financially. He worked for example at a family-run Polish restaurant and later as a waiter and sommelier, eventually managing BondSt sushi restaurant. He became friends with  Ted Allen who was the original Queer Eye food and wine expert and is now a host of Food Network. Antoni Porowski became his personal chef.

His first cookbook will be released in 2019 and he is opening a restaurant with low-carb and healthy options in New York.
