According to the latest Tourism in Warsaw report 2016 published by the official tourism office of Warsaw The British, Germans and French are the biggest groups of foreign visitors in Warsaw. Last year there were almost 2.9 million arrivals of foreigners in the capital of Poland. Warsaw offers tourists a wide range of activities: sightseeing, cultural activities places to relax. Warsaw is also seen as an attractive place to do business.
As fas as the foreign visitors are concerned, 12% of all visitors came from the United Kingdom, 11 % from Germany and France, 6% from Italy, Spain and the United States, 4% from Lithuania , the Netherlands and Sweden and 3% from Israel.
Most visitors came by train 37%. By car 31%, by bus 26% and by plane 6%.
The main purposes of visiting Warsaw were: sightseeing: 40%, 17%, visiting relatives or friends 11%, learning about culture, history and local customs 9%, business 5 % and cultural events 5 %.
Average length of stay was 4.5 days. Average tourist attractiveness of Warsaw according to tourists (on a scale of 1 to 10) is 8.18 and average tendency of tourists to recommend a visit to Warsaw to their family/friends (on a scale of 1 to 10) is 8.44.
