THE TALL SHIPS RACES FINAL

Between 5 and 8 August, Szczecin will once again be the sailing capital of Europe! Completing an exhausting race across the Baltic, the largest sailing vessels in the world will put into port at the capital of Western Pomerania to celebrate the grand final of The Tall Ships Races 2017 together with citizens and tourists.

The ships from among Poland, the Netherlands, Brazil, Russia, Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Portugal, Oman, Sweden will participate in this event.

Szczecin has already hosted this event twice – in 2007 and 2013. The sailing ship rally had proven an organisational success on both occasions, bringing much joy to citizens and tourists, and recognition in the eyes of other ports to Szczecin. For the third time, the race final will be held on the shores of the Oder in 2017. The breathtaking seaside Wały Chrobrego will again be filled with an unforgettable sailing atmosphere, and the city will gleam with the white of sailors’ hats and striped crewman shirts. You can’t find such flavour anywhere else!

The music star of this year’s sailing ship rally in Szczecin will be Andrea Bocelli. The artist will perform his greatest hits among rocking masts and fluttering sails. But that’s not all! The race finale will be followed by the Pyromagic Fireworks Festival – the largest of its type Poland. On 11 and 12 August, the sky over the Oder will shine with a thousand fireworks, prepared by the finest pyrotechnical enterprises from around the world.

The Szczecin Final of The Tall Ships Races is under the honour patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland.
