On April 12, Beata Bruggeman-Sekowska was invited as a guest speaker by the General Sosabowski Polish School in Brunssum to the open lesson dedicated to the Katyn Massacre, The event was attended by students, teachers and parents.

School Director Ms. Bożena Cichy delivered a presentation on the Katyn massacre, its historical overview and far-reaching consequences.Further, a literature teacher Ms. Jolanta Żukowska discussed the artistic influences in Andrzej Wajda’s acclaimed film Katyn and how they helped preserve collective memory. Beata Bruggeman-Sękowska elaborated on the role of the European Institute on Communist Oppression in raising awareness of communism as a totalitarian system in the Netherlands and globally and also discussed the mechanisms of Soviet disinformation and propaganda in obscuring the truth of Katyn and manipulating international perception for decades.
