The day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland and Polish people abroad

 

Today is the day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland. May 2 is also Day of Polish people living abroad, a day of about 20 million of Polis people living outside Poland.

Day of Polish People Abroad is celebrated on May 2, 2002. It was established by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on the initiative of the Senate of the Republic of Poland ”in recognition of the achievements and contribution of Poles abroad to Poland’s independence, loyalty and attachment to Poland, and assisting Poland in the most difficult moments.” ( Journal of Laws from 2002, No. 37, item 331)

 

Day 2 May is also the day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland – introduced by the Act of February 20, 2004.
