Armenia Seeks UNESCO Recognition for More Cultural Gems: Dolma, Sweet Sujukh and More

Armenia’s government has announced plans to expand its UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list from 51 to 68 elements, proposing additions that celebrate cherished traditions such as dolma, sweet sujukh, and regional dialects. This initiative aims to preserve and document Armenia’s rich cultural expressions, which include eight current entries on UNESCO’s global list, such as the music of the duduk and the artistry of Armenian cross-stones.
