On the 21st of November Polish Public TV: TVP Polonia broadcast a reportage about the Polish Person of the Year awards and Polish immigration in the Netherlands.
Polish television visited Heerlen where Polish immigrants came to work in the mines and talked with the Mayor of Heerlen, Mr Ralf Krewinkel who pointed out that Polish immigrants were very hard-working and are welcome to Heerlen.
Beata Bruggeman-Sekowska stressed the international character of Heerlen where many nationalities lived together and contributed to the city.
Polish TV visited also the gala of the Polish Person of the Year, its 5th edition. Ms Barbara Borys-Damiecka, Polish Senator, president of the jury pointed out the importance of Polonus in shaping the positive image of Polish immigration and pointed out how hard-working and determined the candidates were.
Franciszek Roguski, winner in the category: Young Person of Success stressed out that it still happens that Polish immigrants are underpaid and it is important to follow the law and regulations.
Polish TV visited also Meterik, Polish church and Polish school and talked with Polish children and Mr Krzysztof Feldman about not forgetting the roots and learning the Polish language.
Limburg is a very special region where immigrants got succesfully integrated and at the same time do not forget their roots.
