Poland a new family – holiday destination?

Poland is a great holiday destination because it has it all: history, nature, delicious food, friendly people, a lot to see and do. Poland means unlimited places for relaxation in the mountains, at the sea, at the lakes or national parks. And it is only 800 km away by car from the Netherlands.

But is Poland really a child-friendly destination? Can it become a new family – holiday destination? This is the question that I tried to answer during my last summer holiday. Soon you will be able to read a couple of articles presenting different parts of Poland seen through the eyes of children and their parents. Polish Toursim Office in Amsterdam : www.polen.travel/nl,  Facebook.com/pools.verkeersbureau,  is one of our partners.
But before that I have asked a few candidates for Miss Poland Benelux 2014 : www.misspoland.nl  to share their views on that subject.

Today Andzelika Chmielewska is presenting her home city: Plock.

I have a lot of wonderful memories from my childhood connected with Plock and its surrounding areas. Together with my parents we went at least once a year to the situated on the scarp Zoo. The Village Museum in Sierpiec Mazowsze is also worth visiting with the entire family. It is a real trip to the past, surprising discoveries and above all inspiring encounter with the native history and rituals of Masovian countryside of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
Hardly anyone knows that Plock was the historical capital of the Polish region Mazovia and the Polish capital in the years 1079-1138. Today Tumskie Hill with a renaissance cathedral and the remains of the castle is the pearl of Plock.
