Monte Cassino

74 years ago soldiers of the Polish 2nd Corps captured the monastery of Monte Cassino from the Germans, in what was one of the greatest allied successes of WW2‬.

After the end of the war, the commander of the Polish 2nd Corps – General Władysław Anders settled in Britain among his soldiers. He went on to serve in the Polish government-in-exile. In a special video made as part of the ‪‎Republic In Exile‬ project, his daughter minister Anna Maria Anders speaks about her father’s life and legacy.
