Culture event CityLiv appoints guest curator for 2016

Press release

For the fourth time in a row Heerlen’s culture event CityLiv challenges designers, artists and architects to come up with temporary designs for the public space, all made with recyclable materials. To add a layer of depth CityLiv appointed Judy Straten as guest curator for the 2016 edition. Hence the platform can broaden its knowledge and will be able to establish an even stronger connection between designers, their works and the public.
Judy Straten initiates new ideas by international experiences and her knowledge of the most recent developments in all corners of the creative industry. She will provide CityLiv with new impulses and connect creative disciplines with several fields of work. As the event’s new curator puts it: “Acting from the principle that change was never brought without boldness, experiments and a decisive approach”
In the past few years, Cityliv is grown into a broad platform that concentrates on the development of languages, the inseparable connection between art and her public and of course the importance of the re-use of materials. For this Citylives aims to new connections within the creative field, which might be a positive impulse to the city or region. Cityliv stimulates, amazes, breaks the standard and can be characterized by its temporary nature. Yet, is stimulated by IBA Parkstad to turn into something more permanent.
Details of CityLiv’s program will be announced by the curator soon.
CityLiv is an initiative by Studio Erol.
