End February Netflix will start filming the first original series in Polish.
The shooting will first take place in the Polish city Wrocław and then move also to other locations.
Eight-season series will be directed by Oscar-nominated Agnieszka Holland and Kasia Adamik. World premiere on Netflix is scheduled for 2018.
Series will be kept in the tradition of Cold War espionage thrillers and will present an alternative world story in which the Iron Curtain never fell. In 2002, twenty years after the terrible terrorist attack of 1982, which blazed Polish hopes for liberation and prevented the collapse of the Soviet Union, a law student with ideals and a discredited investigative officer discovered a conspiracy that kept the iron curtain and the repressive police state in Poland.
Joshua Long is creator and scriptwriter of the series. The Kennedy / Marshall Company and The House Media Company will be the producers of this project. Executive producers of the series will be Frank Marshall (“Jurrasic World”, “Jason Bourne”) and Robert Zotnowski (“House of Cards”) from the Kennedy / Marshall Company production studio, as well as Polish producer Andrzej Besztak (House Media) and Joshua Long, Maciej Musiał and Agnieszka Holland. In the past Polish director: Agnieszka Holland has already collaborated with Netflix – she has directed several episodes of the popular series “House of Cards”.
