On the 18th of November 2015 an official celebration of the Polish Independence Day ( Polish: Narodowe Święto Niepodległości) took place at NATO in Brunssum.
National Independence Day ( Polish: Narodowe Święto Niepodległości) is a national holiday in Poland celebrated on 11 November to commemorate the anniversary of the restoration of Poland’s sovereignty as the Second Polish Republic in 1918, after 123 years of partition by the Russian Empire, The Kingdom of Prussia and the Habsburg Empire.
The ceremony was attended by the international representatives of NATO, Polish army, Polish Embassy, local government, Polish School and other Polish guests.
Among the guests were among others present: Ms Malgorzata Pacek, Counsellor – Head of Consular Section, Col. Artur Krawczyk from the Defence Attaché Office of the Polish Embassywith his wife, Commander JFC Brunssum General Hans-Lothar Domröse, Lieutenant General Janusz Adamczak with his wife, lieutenant Mariusz Matoszka, Ms Bozena Cicha, Director of the Polish School and Frank Joosten, vice- Mayor of Brunssum and many other officials.
