The results of the seventh edition of the English Proficiency Index for 2017 have just been published. The winner is the Netherlands. Out of 80 countries worldwide the command of English is the highest in this country. The CEE country which scored the highest is Poland, ranked 11. Other CEE countries which appeared on the list of countries with a good command of English are: Serbia is ranked 16, Romania 17, Hungary 19, Czech Republic 20, Slovakia 21.
This seventh edition of the EF EPI is based on test data from more than one million test takers who completed three different versions of the EF Standard English Test (EF SET) in 2016.
