I BIKE BUDAPEST and the Dutch Ambassador Gajus Scheltema

On 25 April, the legendary Critical Mass cycling rally will be re-launched under a new name: I Bike Budapest. The event is expected to attract tens of thousands of cyclists. The Dutch Embassy has been a supporter of the cycling community in Hungary for years. His Excellency Gajus Scheltema, Ambassador of the Netherlands in Hungary bikes from his residence to his office in Budapest, too. In the interview published today he says that he supports Bike Budapest; ” I am a biker. I like Budapest and I bike Budapest”

Critical Mass is a cycling event typically held on the last Friday of every month. Critical Mass-like bike tours with hundreds of participants took place in Stockholm, Sweden in the early 1970s. But the first ride within the present wave took place on Friday, September 25, 1992 at 6 pm in San Francisco.
